ITINERARY

Our well-structured itinerary is designed to ensure you have a memorable and rewarding experience while climbing Gede or Pangrango Mountain. Each segment of the tour is carefully timed to provide a balance between challenging activity, rest, and enjoyment of the natural surroundings. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of what to expect throughout the day:

Guests will be picked up from their hotel in a private vehicle and driven to the Cibodas trailhead, which serves as the starting point for both Mount Gede and Mount Pangrango treks. The drive will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours from Jakarta or about 1.5 hours from Bogor. Along the way, your guests can enjoy the beautiful countryside scenery of West Java.

After arriving at the trailhead, the guide will give a safety briefing and discuss the route for the climb. This will include instructions on proper hiking techniques, what to expect during the climb, and a short introduction to the flora and fauna of the park.

The climb begins through a dense tropical rainforest. The first few kilometers offer gentle slopes, allowing guests to adjust to the altitude while marveling at the towering trees and listening to the sounds of the forest. The trail winds through waterfalls, bamboo groves, and lush greenery.

After two hours of trekking, the group will reach the Panca Weuleuh Hot Springs, where they can take a short break. The hot springs are a warm, geothermal wonder, and guests can enjoy a light snack while feeling the mist rise from the warm water.

After 4.5 hours of trekking, guests will reach the summit of Mount Gede (2,958 m) or Mount Pangrango (3,019 m). The feeling of accomplishment will be paired with awe-inspiring views of West Java’s volcanic landscape, including distant mountains and a glimpse of the Indian Ocean on clear days. A packed lunch will be provided at the summit, allowing guests to relax, take in the views, and snap photos.

After the summit experience, the descent begins. While the trek down is less physically demanding, guests will need to be cautious on the rocky and sometimes slippery trail. Along the way, they’ll pass through areas they may have missed on the ascent, providing new perspectives of the environment.

After about 3.5 hours of descent, the group will arrive back at the Cibodas trailhead, where the vehicle awaits to transfer them back to their hotel.

Guests will be returned to their hotel for a well-deserved rest after a full day of adventure.

The above times are approximate and may be adjusted depending on various factors, such as weather conditions, trail conditions, and the pace of the group. Our guides are trained to ensure safety and enjoyment for everyone, so the schedule may be adapted as needed to accommodate these variables.
